Mesmerizing Matheran

My friend and I wanted an escapade from the maddening days. Since my friend is living in Mumbai we booked a round trip flight from Bangalore to Mumbai for 3 days.

Nothing is planned just two way tickets and a blind trust on my friend's friend. So the stay is sorted out and expectations were set from the moment he suggested Matheran.

Though we roamed around the touristy list of places like Elephanta caves (I like Badami caves),Gateway of Bombay, famous Colaba causeway,st Mary church, linking road etc. Matheran stays forever in our heart.

It's a hill station but visiting during monsoon always takes up your experience to a higher level

Toy train service runs between Neral and Matheran.Though you can trek along the path, you can hop in train if you hadn't experienced already.

There are lot of view points and a few estate houses to make you jealous.Quite a number of times you miss the path but that's common.Just see the view point in that path and enjoy your exploration.

Few Maggi shops and corns are available for refreshment. At the top of the hill there's a shop for tea and other savouries.

If you have a thing for mountains and clouds, then definitely visit Matheran during July-Aug and you will not come back from that heaven.

Munch some chikkis and ice gola on the way back to Train station.Train ticket charged around 50/- one way.
