It wanders in our blood however few people fulfil the true definition of Patriotism. Those few auspicious people are none other than our defence force who altruistically serve towards our nation. This year, fortunately all of us can experience this vigorous feeling of Patriotism in a new way. Let’s get into a detailed overview of The Veera Yatra Programme launched by MESCO.

Background & Concept purpose

This time, Our Military has arrived with a unique & innovative concept to provide the sincere opportunity to all the ordinary citizens to experience our fighter’s life. Established for the 1st time in India, under the supervision of MESCO (Government of Maharashtra has launched MESCO in the year 2002 for the welfare & resettlement of ex-servicemen) the Veer Yatra is a new face of growing military tourism. Veer Yatra programme will not only help ex-Military personnel to obtain a sustainable life but also provide freedom to civilians to experience the laborious lifestyle of our defence force.

What MESCO – Maharashtra Ex-Servicemen Corporation Does?

Maharashtra Ex-servicemen Corporation Ltd. (MESCO) A Government of Maharashtra Undertaking was established on 18 Jan 2002 for the welfare and resettlement of ex-servicemen with the motto of “Service with Discipline”. MESCO’s objective is to provide reasonable employment to ex-servicemen of the state nearest to their homes/within their district by undertaking various commercial activities.

A Unique conceptualization of Veer Yatra Programme

The Veer Yatra programme is exclusively designed in a classic way where an ordinary citizen can experience the back-breaking life of our defence force. The Veer Yatra is a platform where it serves you with an incredible opportunity to understand the various aspect of military life by organising thrilling tours to Military quarters. They do not believe in organising a fancy tour to Military quarters rather they plan a realistic tour where you can witness the audacious roles of our defence academy. Under the expert guidance of ex-servicemen, The Veer Yatra tours involves visit to Armed forces medical Collage, Collage of Military Engineering, Airforce Station, Military Hostels, Naval Aviation Museum, Military Museum & places like China Border at Nathu La Pass, J&K Pakistan Border, Military Post – Srinagar & a glance of Border Road Organisation. They offer various activities too during their tours such as stay at British guest house in Konkan, Act as a fighter to save forts located in Maharashtra in Military games organised by Veer Yatra Team, bravery stories by Military personnel & many more interesting activities which will undoubtedly bring you back into the British ruled era of our country.

1. BANO BAHADUR – CAMP SHAURYA ( AGE GROUP 10-13)

What to Explore: War Memorial & Army Workshop

Get ready for a tour of Pune’s military sites, organized to inspire our young students through the world of bravery of our defence forces. It nurtures in the young generation the spirit of adventure, develops team spirit and fitness, while teaching them to face challenges in a safe and secure environment under the watchful eyes of experienced ex-defence personnel. 3. PANHALA ADVENTURE CAMP
What to Explore: Military Hostel & Kolhapur Regiment

This is an exciting trip to discover and enjoy the defence history of the picturesque fort hill station of Panhala. The adventure trip is organised to inspire our young students with a taste of the world of bravery of our defence forces. It nurtures in the young generation the spirit of adventure, develops team spirit and physical fitness while teaching them to face challenges in a safe and secure environment under the watchful eyes of experienced ex-defence personnel.

4. REFRESHING KONKAN
What to Explore: Old Naval Forts, Military Guest House – Mahad, Military Guest House – Alibaug, Military Games

5. GOA – KARWAR COSTAL TREASURE
What to Experience: Fort Aguada, National Institute of Oceanography, Signal Regiment, Naval Aviation Museum, Karwar Naval Base

The romance of old naval forts steeped in legends of bravery, fascinating stories of valour in uniform and the muscle of project Seabird, India’s largest naval base of the Western Command. 6. GANGTOK-DARJEELING
What to Explore: Military Museum, China Border at Nathu la Pass and Border Road Organization
