This trip of mine was one of the most unplanned ones that I have ever had.

I was at Roorkee when my friends and I made plan to make a quick visit to Rishikesh. As mentioned, one of the most unplanned trips this was. We reached Rishikesh at 4am in morning. It looked majestic. Everything was lit up, the bridge, the cafe on the riverside, the half-moon which also caught my attention while i was staring at those light and listening to the sound of water as I sat by the river.

First sight of Rishikesh

The first sight of Rishikesh was overwhelming as I have been meaning to catch a break during my hectic schedule of work, kiddish yes but heart wants what it wants. Moving further we booked a hotel, It came with a cost of approx 3000/- for all 4 of us. We quickly checked in and after having an entire bucket of ice cream with my friends we all slept like a baby.

Waking up around 9 in the morning was little late and out of my routine but all i wanted to go out and feel the warmth of sun. So, I went out straight opened a window in the corridor and the view was amazing. The warmth of sun on my face was energetic and calm at the same time.

From here on it was like, let's not sit in the hotel and get out and live a little, do things that I wanted to do all along. We left with our little bag packs and the first thing we wanted to do is have chai and bun maska. Without chai it feels incomplete to start anything in mountains.

I have crossed Rishikesh before as well, unfortunately I have never been able to check out the waterfalls and I have heard so much about it. So, the first thing we planned while having chai was to do a little hike towards the waterfall. This waterfall is known as Neergarh waterfall in Rishikesh.

So, we rented couple of scooties (Cost - 800/-) and left for Neergarh waterfall which was around 9 some kilometers from the place we stayed. well, driving scooty in mountains was sure a fun thing to do. It scares you a little at first as I don't drive scooty much, until n unless I am in goa - You know how it works there. Anyways coming back to Neergarh waterfall Rishikesh.

Hike is of approx 20-25 minutes.

There is a small ticket house at the right-hand side of the road when you do the entry. It will cost you 50 Rs. per person. After that they check your bags a little further ahead to ensure you are not carrying any alcohol or such stuff which is kind of good given you should be able to enjoy the nature when doing hike in natures lap.

Every step in the nature was beautiful. We kept on joking and hiking making few stops for Maggie as it was a life saver. Let me tell you something if you are not aware about it, "Pahado me maggie is like go to food" It suddenly cheers you up.

We reached, took dip in those freezing and milk like color water of Neergarh. I guess thats why they call is Neer waterfall. It could be because when you go a little further from there you get to a village Neergarh or the water is literally like milk when you see it falling. Hence the name I guess Neergarh waterfalls. We stayed for an hour or so, cracked jokes ate our fill and then slowly left for Shivpuri, Rishikesh. That's where our next adventure awaits.

It's the same place which is famous for its adventurous activities such as River Rafting, Bungee Jumping, Giant Swing etc. We wanted to give a shot to Giant Swing almost on the same height of bungee jumping and well it was as thrilling as it could get. Let me show you a couple of shots while we get ourself inked with a temp tattoo and then went right off towards the Giant swing. We had to submit our phones ofcourse so further photos of this.

That's how it started, and rest is just an amazing and thrilling experience for us to remember. I am sure after reading this if you go along and feel like trying it you should, It's a beautiful experience. After getting this adventure out of our way we headed back to Tapovan, Rishikesh for some lunch as we burned every calorie doing Giant swing and waterfall Hike.

Not after long we headed towards Sai Ghat, Rishikesh. Best place to be at if you want to meditate and sit in silence for a while as the crowd here was a little less. Mostly rocks and white sand and some foreigners doing their yoga and soaking in sun. I am telling you climbing those rocks has its own fun. we did it for quite some time till we got tired and took a dip in ganga and sat there in peace.

We stayed the evening here sitting in silence and doing nothing. All the time we were here we simply immersed out feet and enjoy in peace. I was able to capture a sunset from the rocks on this ghat. It was blissful. Nature has its own way of painting.

It was a beautiful one-day short trip which was adventurous, thrilling and soothing at the same time. The fun of a short hike between the dancing trees and river streams. The thrill and adventure of doing the giant swing and walking in the lanes of Rishikesh and sitting quite at the ghat it all turned out really amazing. A bundle of joy in what it was in my mind.

It's true what they say, " Happiness is to be found within".

Dear travelers all across the globe, plan a trip and take a walk on wild side of the nature in Rishikesh. Rishikesh has much to offer, even in those "choti galiyon me".

The effect of Rishikesh is Everlasting.
