Reminiscing my first sunset of the year on top of the Nakkati Hill.
For those who don't know, Nakkati Hill is located in the outskirts of the Bongaigaon district of Assam. It is known to be the highest peak in the lower Assam region. Its cut-nose-shape edge is closely compared with the famous Mc Affee Knob of USA.
Nakkati hill is a popular trekking place amongst the locals, however its beauty is still unseen and unknown to the outside world. The trek to Nakkati Hilltop is a strenuous climb of about 4-5 hours total. Although it took us about 3 hours to complete the whole trek as we reached late and we all know there are no shortcuts to any place worth going. So we kept climbing and heaving until, finally we reached the top. As we reached, before us were these spectacular vistas of the surrounding villages, valleys covered with dense forest. We sat down for a while and watched the sun go down, listening to the wind and taking in the stunning view.
By the time we reached down it was already dark, thus we self-invited us to one of the local's home for a cup of tea and ended another trip with full of warm memories and smiles shared.
