On this Mindful Retreat in Ramgarh, a lesser-known mountain destination in Uttarakhand, you will experience a grand blend of traditional country style with modern comfort. Give in to the calls of nature by taking the trails less taken. Owned by a Switzerland-based couple with roots in Nainital, this property is run by siblings who have grown up in the hills and are well-versed in the terrain of this area.

Stay and host

  • Main Villa is with octuple (8) occupancy and can accommodate up to ten people. The Villa consists of 3 rooms surrounded by landscaped gardens.

  • Pets are allowed at this property so feel free to bring our furries with you.
  • The host, Archit Gupta, is a young lawyer at the Nainital district court who spent his childhood in the hills but his love for travel took him across Europe and Asia. 
  • With his extensive knowledge of the landscape of this area, Archit is the best person to recommend places one must visit in and around Himalaica.

For the activity, you will require:

  • Warm and comfortable clothes and hiking shoes.
  • Binoculars for birdwatching.
  • Torch in case you get late to reach the property.
  • Personal water bottles.

How to Reach

By Road: Himalaica can be reached by road from Delhi (314 km) and Bareilly (139 km)
By Air: Fly to the nearest airport at Pantnagar Airport which is at a distance of 65 km from the property. Followed by a cab ride from the airport to the property which would take 2 hours to reach. 
By Train: Book a train to Kathgodam railway station (KGM) which is 31 km away from the property. Then take a cab to the destination.

Itinerary
  • Arrive and check in at Himalaica, latest by 1 pm.
  • Settle down and freshen up before lunch at 2 pm.
  • Give yourself some rest and then either take a hike or bike to Shyamkhet Tea Gardens.
  • Let the embers fly as you immerse yourself in some music, games, and conservation around a bonfire at 6 pm.
  • Dinner will be served at 8 pm after which you can relax in your room or enjoy the outdoor ambiance.
  • As you open your eyes the pleasing spectacle of dense montane forests will captivate your senses. Be ready for breakfast at 9 am.
  • Get ready for a hike to Himalaica Ridge starting at 10 am.
  • Be back to the property before 2 pm for a sumptuous Kumaoni Lunch.
  • Get some rest after lunch before heading out for birdwatching at 4 pm. Or if you want to destress you can even opt for a massage.
  • Exchange travel stories with fellow guests or listen to music around a bonfire at 6 pm.
  • Dinner will be served post that, at 8 pm.
  • Be awakened by the chirping of birds and enjoy breakfast by 9 am.
  • Bid goodbye to this wonderful stay as you leave for your next destination.
