I believe India is safe to travel. Be it any part of the country. Only difference which lie between different parts is how you conduct and present yourself. For language problem, can you tell me which place are you travelling in Northern India?

India is safe to travel but the problem most of the travellers aface is scam. YES, the shopkeepers, Taxi drivers, guide everyone want to do scam so that they can get more money. Don't give attention to the offers given by them. try bargaining as much as possible because some of them sell at 10 time more the actual price. Always check the MRP. For taxi download ola and uber.
