Try Gandikota. You can usually camp there. It's a totally fresh experience. Or head to the Godavari districts to experience Telugu culture.

Try Hampi. Overnight train to Hospet and 40 mins local transport to Humpi. you can get small cottages on the other side of river from 600-100 Rs per person. for travel hire bike on rent. 250-350 rs per day.
