If you mean Auli near Joshimath, there is Bharath Seva Sang Ashram right under the Sri Sankaracharya Cave or Kali Kamli below the Post office in the old market.

Local hotels are good, try booking at joshimath if you want budget hotels. Good rooms with heaters at 2k are available.

You can rent a tent and have some fun with bonfire and camping but make sure the place you choose is secure ( Stay away from forests as chances to get harmed by wild animals are more in winters)
