Hi Pramit, I have been to Ladakh, when we did not have the Atal tunnel and there was no Zojila Tunnel. I did it with my twin brother, way back in 2013. First things first, the weather affects different individuals differently. We both started together, and at Pang and Khardungla, my twin did need oxygen. I never needed any , throughout the trip. In short, there is no hard and fast rule. Acclimatization to the body is the same as warming up or stretching, before a strenuous exercise. It is advised to do it, as it helps in the overall functioning of the body. Keep a day for acclimatization. However, do listen to your body. We took an entire day off when we reached Pang, as my twin was kind of uncomfortable. Also, we didn't not just ride from Manali to Leh. We rode from Delhi to Manali to Leh to Srinagar to Amritsar and back to Delhi. So it was a long ride. P.S. There was no 500 CC Thunderbird launched yet. It was introduced only a couple of months later.

Planning a solo quad biking adventure in Ladakh? Here are the essential items you'll need to ensure a safe and memorable journey. Pack lightweight, durable clothing for varying weather conditions, including warm layers for chilly mornings and breathable fabrics for sunny afternoons. Don't forget a reliable GPS device or map, plenty of water and high-energy snacks, a first aid kit, and a tool kit for basic bike repairs. Additionally, carry a portable charger for your electronic devices, a sturdy tent or sleeping bag for camping under the stars, and a headlamp for navigating dark roads.
