This is a very difficult but interesting question. While most people have their own preferences, there are some places in Himachal which can truly take your breath away! Also, we will try our best to keep this list as short as possible – we promise! Further, we will be focusing on several factors that make a destination better than the others. So, here is the list: Kullu- Manali Himachal’s favorite twins, Kullu and Manali are the most popular and populous hills stations in the state. The beautiful valleys and majestic peaks make it a perfect environment for a romantic getaway, family holiday, or a relaxing trip. Go for trekking, camping in the forests and grasslands, fishing and river rafting in Kullu, skiing (only in winter), paragliding and other adventure sports in Solang Valley. With ancient temples, endless nature, and cozy retreats, Kullu and Manali have all for a perfect vacation in the hills. Shimla The state capital, Shimla is one of the oldest vacation destinations of India. A warm blend of old Indian charm and colonial elegance, Shimla is a postcard-like town with stunning structures and perfect landscape. It’s a city within the hills and not short of any trappings that one can ask for! Visit the famous bungalows and mansions, play a game of polo at Annandale, walk down the Ridge, or go on a food trail around town and sample the age-old flavors that still run the town. Dharamshala One of the top places to visit in Himachal, Dharamshala is not only famous for its visual delight of the Himalayas but also for its local culture. It sits in the Kangra Valley, which is famous for tea estates. Take a tour of tea gardens, visit the perennial Bhagsu Falls or enjoy a boat ride on the Dal Lake. Dharamshala is also one of the oldest Indo-Tibetan settlements which define the town’s community culture. The Dalai Lama Temple complex is the most famous Buddhist site in the town, among other monasteries.
