There are number of places you can go in December and it actually depends on your starting point and number of days ypu have. If you are based in North India, it can be a family road trip in Rajasthan covering all major destinations from Jaipur, Ajmer, Pushkar, Udaipur, Jodhpur and Jaisalmer. Can go to Manali and neraby places to see the snow.

If you love misty, cold and foggy atmosphere, with a minus degree temperature, you can come and visit Munnar, in Kerala. A nice place to visit in the month of November, December, January and February. The Eravikulam National Park here,is the only destination on earth where you can see Nilgiri Tahr, a wild goat species, very close to you.
