Hey mridula, depends on your interest, if you are searching properties near beaches then do try Tanto far beach retreat, lotus bay view and villa bayoud, if you are going there to celebrate new year then its better if you book your rooms in the heart of the city

I stayed in Palais de Mahe, ans it was a awesome experience. I do not see an option to post a picture.

We stayed in Hotel Pearl in Auroville village which was nice place to stay. Reaching the Promenade and sea coast was easy, hardly 10 minutes drive. Markets in Pondicherry are very near to this spot. Jawahar Street etc , Auroville's Boutique & Thrift shops are a must visit.
