I always prefer to travel in this month cos its the only leisure time I get. Try North Eastern India, and try to roam without tailor made plan. Though book hotels and conveyance in advance to save the time but travel as per your will. You'll love this place. Himachal Pradesh is also a good option.

Visit auli(uttarakhand) I have been there from 4th april to 6th april... there is hell lot of snow there..
