    Take a bus to Haridwar, then to Sonprayag from where Gaurikund, the base campsite is barely 4-5 km. Take either a shared taxi or hike up the distance but you got 13+ kms for the main hike itself.

    There is a direct bus from Kashmere Gate ISBT to Sonprayag which leaves at 9pm everyday. From Sonprayag you will get shared taxi to Gaurikund (the base for kedarnath trek). The distance from Sonprayag to Gaurikund is about 4kms. You shall reach there by 11am the next day. The trek to kedarnath temple is 16kms from the base Gaurikund. You can start the trek the same day or wait for the next day. You can make stay at the top, so it's pretty convinient. The same bus leaves from sonprayag at 1pm everyday to delhi
