There are a few places that are too beautiful to miss in Nagaland. Dzukou Valley, Dzuleke village, Khonoma village, and Mon and Longwa villages. The itinerary I'd advise is: Day 1: Arrive in Kohima by afternoon at the latest and head to Zakhama and stay overnight. Day 2: Trek to Dzukou valley and star gaze at night. Day 3: Trek back to Zakhama and head to Kohima. Stay overnight. Day 4: Make your way to Khonoma. Stay overnight. Day 5: Explore Khonoma village and immerse yourself in the culture. Day 6: Enjoy your day in Khonoma and return to Kohima by night. Stay overnight. Day 7: Relax in Kohima and then move to your next destination. If you want to visit Mon village, you'll need atleast 3-4 extra days as the road to Mon is really bad so it takes 12-14 hours to reach there. It you can take the time out, you must definitely do it and visit Longwa. Hope you have a great trip in Nagaland. Safe travels mate!

Hi there! nagaland is a beautiful State and truly worth exploring. So i travelled there last year with my kid and explored the Hornbill Festival but that was just one of the highlights of this amazing trip! We started our journey from Dimapur which is the easiest way to enter Nagaland ex Gauhati... this is what our route was: Guwahati>Dimapur>Wokha>Mokokchung>Kohima>Kisama>Khonoma and Jakhama(Villages) >Dimapur>Guwahati. There are also other parts such as Mon and Longwa that you can choose to include in your itinerary, but for a seven day trip I suggest you choose a route that does not have too much internal travel involved(the roads are pretty bad in Nagaland so its better to break your journey and stay longer with only two- three proper destinations and then do day trips to villages in and around. That way you will get time to enjoy the State in all its glory! If you are up for trekking, do not miss the Dzoukou valley trek. I have written a tripoto blog on the same and you can find additional info about my entire trip on my blog at www.backpackindianmama.com https://www.tripoto.com/trip/nagaland-wokha-and-mokokchung-with-kids-the-perfect-travel-guide-5cd405dd9cf0f Have a super time!

Dzukou valley being the most lucrative attraction of Nagaland is a must visit. However would suggest you to keep the Dzukou experience for the later part of the week. Khonoma, Dzuleke and Dzukou are nearby. So you can plan all from Kohima.
