I have just returned from my trip to Laddakh. Thanks to everyone who have answered my questions. Now,with my experience I am answering my questions myself..Hope this would help someone with similar travel plans.. (1) For a beautiful apricot experience visit Alchi..The trees would be loaded with ripe Apricots during july august. Here you can stay at the many homestay options.can watch the villagers processing the fruits and also pluck a few and taste the fruits. There is a 10th century Monastery in Alchi with lovely murals which are preserved intact. (2)For attending a morning prayer you can visit Thiksey monastery at 7am in the morning.Trust me!!you would have a very beautiful experience. (3) For purchasing handicrafts Leh market is the best place. The prices are a little on the higher side at all places in Laddakh.I bought a beautiful white yak made of yak wool for Rs. 750
