You can go direct manali from delhi....it takes aproax 12 hours to reach manali....

Yes why not...chandigarh where you can visit morni hills.....rather than u have many options after chnadigarh like sundernagar, naggar, kullu
You can book a Volvo if you want a budgeted trip and traveling alone, If you are a bunch of people or have no budget constraints then book a cab or private car

You can go via bus... It departs from Kashmeeri Gate ISBT. It will take you around 13-14 hours. It's cheap and convenient as well.
Then after you can enjoy your trip to old Manali, Manikaran, Solang, Rohtang Pass, Hidimba Temple and many more....
