Sure, here's a suggested itinerary for a 2-day trip to Rishikesh in April: Day 1: Start your day early and head to the Triveni Ghat to witness the morning aarti ceremony, where priests perform rituals by the river. After the aarti, head to one of the cafes in the area for breakfast. Popular options include The Sitting Elephant, Little Buddha Cafe, and Oasis Cafe. Post breakfast, head to the Beatles Ashram, also known as the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Ashram, to explore the abandoned buildings covered in vibrant graffiti. After the ashram visit, head to the Rajaji National Park for a wildlife safari. The park is home to tigers, leopards, elephants, and a variety of bird species. In the evening, head to Parmarth Niketan Ashram to attend the Ganga Aarti, a mesmerizing ritual where devotees offer prayers to the Ganges river. Day 2: Start your day with a dip in the holy Ganges river. Head to one of the ghats, such as Ram Jhula or Laxman Jhula, to take a dip and soak in the spiritual atmosphere. After the dip, head to Neer Garh Waterfall, a beautiful waterfall located in the hills near Rishikesh. You can take a short trek to reach the waterfall, and it's an excellent spot for a picnic. In the afternoon, head to Vashishta Gufa, a cave where the sage Vashishta is believed to have meditated. The cave is located in the hills and provides a serene atmosphere for meditation. In the evening, head to Triveni Ghat again to witness the evening aarti ceremony, which is similar to the morning aarti but with a different set of rituals. That concludes your 2-day itinerary in Rishikesh. Have a safe and enjoyable trip!
