You can book hostel and jaipur is not so expensive city you should travel by local buses don't go on the auto or taxis. Food is also cheap there I went there about 1month ago and I spent less than 600rs because I was not staying there. Ticket cost are high for every place you visit. Its depends on you where you want stay or what you wanna eat.

You can also try mistay which allows hourly stay in hotel rooms, that you can pay only for few hours also! I have used this thrice and I am happy with their service!
