Yes, definitely.. we can visit Meghalaya in 5 days and 4 days Assam. it's best to do it as we can cover both states properly

Both the states have lots of places to explore. I will suggest you to visit one state at a time. Apart from Cherrapunji and Cleanest village you can also plan to visit Dawki a small bordering town in Meghalaya known for its crystal clear water of the lake . Every state has its own flavour and minimum seven days is needed to get it's feel . Hope this helps.
