You can take train from Delhi to haridwar and then can go via taxi to Chopta (NH8) ( taxi is service is available from hotel and if you are staying at Govt hotel then its even easier) . Or else what we did was that we took flight from Delhi to Dehradun and did a over night stay at Hrishikesh and then went to Chopta . Beautiful campsites are available in Chopta where you can live amidst nature . Staying there is important because human body needs to acclimatise to weather conditions. I strongly recommend over night rest before going to trek because though its small trek but its relatively tiring. Also a small suggestion if you are interested to go to less visited destination then do the Deoriatal trek too. Its trek to a beautiful lake at the summit point. You can go there via Chopta. Do check out my next blog as Ill be writing on that too. Happy trekking!!

Take a train from delhi to haridwar. Now you have to go by road from haridwar to Chopta (230KM). Then from here the 6KM long trek begins to Tungnath Shiv temple..

There is no direct bus from Delhi to chopta so you have to break your journey at rishkesh . Take local bus from rishikesh to Rudraprayag. Then bus from Rudraprayag to Ukhimath. Ukhimath to chopta ,either you can opt for a taxi (cost 1000-1500) Or sumo (cost 50).

Hi Nishant, you can't camp at Tunganath there are small guest houses available for stay you can stay there but the number is limited to a very few. You can however stay in Chopta, there are plenty of homestays, guesthouses and hotels available there. You can trek up to Tunganth the morning and return back by evening
