Primarily you have to find those hotels that are dog friendly. Some chains are better than others for some locations allowing them. Be prepared to stop every two hours if traveling by car to let the dog relieve themselves and get a drink of bottled water. Caging a dog traveling is not a good idea. Leashing them is standard when out of the car. Also harnessing them while riding to a child seat hook bar is a necessity. Carry poop bags with you and pick up the poops wherever you stop especially at grassy areas of filling stations. One of the most important things is nutrition and you simply have to not give her what her stomach is not adapted to, for example, we know the answer to the question is caramel popcorn bad for dogs or not? Allow your dog plenty of walking time either at the beginning of the day prior to traveling or at night prior to bed or preferably both. Make sure the dog has a blanket or pillow they are familiar with when bedding down that they know the scent of comfort. Do not allow the parked car to ever sit in the sun when leaving the dog alone unless in the winter. Always park in complete shade and leave windows partially open by at least 3 inches.
