Take a trip to Shimla-Kufri-Sangla and visit Reckong Peo and Pooh and then while you are back.consider visiting Chitkul.

Manali is the best option. From here you can go to solang valley. Solang valley is already covered with snow. And if it's your day, u can also witness live snowfall. Shimla is not a good option.
