Do not do too much research and don’t watch a lot of videos and blog pictures of the place you are going to visit, let it be a surprise for yourself to have a firsthand experience :) always works for me ..

Dont have an agenda. You’re on a trip not in a meeting. Now’s when you can let your heart lead you without regretting it later!

"Itinerary is a myth". Don't be an itinerary-nazi, pack your bags, book the tickets or grab your keys and travel the way your heart wants.

Follow these 5 steps and travel like a professional. Travelling is an expensive hobby and hotels are the most expensive thing in traveling. If you are traveling solo or in groups, you should try to stay in hostels. Hostels provide you the experience of interacting with people all over the world, sharing different cultures, suggesting each other places and all these for a very small amount of money. Follow the following steps to find a perfect stay for yourself.

5) If you are a student, ask for discounts. I am a student and I have saved a lot of bucks by showing my student ID. Don't ever feel shy to ask for student discount anywhere you go, it is just like a discount coupon.
4) Always pay at the stay "Itinerary is a myth". " If you don't change the plans while traveling you are not traveling correctly". There would be a very very long list of quotes if I would sit and quote all of them. So try not to pre-pay your stay, plan changes faster than the clothes.
3) Search for hotels (Only if you don't find a hostel) Search for the hotels which define the city, for example, if you are visiting Jaipur, you should stay in some palace themed hotel rather than visiting some modern hotel.
2) Ask/Search on Tripoto/hostelworld.com Tripoto community is pretty responsive you are most likely to get an answer from travelers around the world. The sole purpose of hostelworld.com is to help you find a perfect hostel. Bookings for almost all the hostels can be done through this site.
Eat local. Food is one of the best reflection of local cultures. And local food joints are the hosts of local social fibre. Grab your Kachori in Rawat (Jaipur) or Ashok Vada Pav (Mumbai) or Johny Benjo (Indore) or Mirchi Vada at Surya Namkeen (Jodhpur) or buttery idlis at Taza Thindi (Bengaluru). Hold your place and listen to the chatter, talk to the bloke on the next table, ask for recommendations, take in the fragrances and feel the ambience. This is my trick to find my place near the heart of my new destination.

Do not have any expectations and always remember journey is more memorable than the destination itself so see it more like a journey than like travel . Then comes other stuff like pack light , keep the proper medications and always have a powerbank .

Carry your bag, headphone or camera and enjoy your trip. Don't think what's going on in your life...just chill when you are on trip.

Just start traveling by leaving all your 'what ifs and but' clauses behind. You will get tip for your next trip from your previous trips itself.

Try to live with a local family. You will get to learn so much about their culture, cuisine, etc. I stayed with an himachali family on my recent travel. They are so kind, generous and happy that I got a new perspective of living life. They even cooked various local dishes for us. It was one of the best travel experience I had. Happy travelling πŸ˜ƒπŸ€˜
