Not at all. Spiti is going throught major crisis.
The roads to Manali are bloacked.
Day before yesterday over 200 people were rescued by the army. Many people were transferred through the rohtang pass tunnel.
These days mostly mountaineous areas are troubled with land slide and hence i'd suggest before you plan or go call local hotels of the place (number for which can be easily found from any hotel booking website including trivago, makemytrip, oyo etc) So kindly give them a call and check with them about the condition over there right now or any other locals over there will be a good way to be aware of the situation before you go. Wish you happy and safe journey :)
Hi Manish. It is better to avoid the valley right now atleast for a month..
The whole area is going through a crisis situation and the forecast is for some major weather setbacks in another month.
Though you can check out with the local hotels and travel agencies however the news is confirmed from my friends so stay away for at least a month
Hey, Due to recent heavy rainfall and sudden weather disturbances in Himalayan region, high altitude areas like Spiti Valley, Keylong etc are all covered with thick snow. People are being rescued from the areas where they are stuck due to landslides and road block in Lahaul & Spiti Valley. It is not a good time to travel there till the conditions becomes good to go. You can anyway visit Kasol, Tosh and Malana towards Parvati Valley. It is still accessible and road conditions are fine. Other places where you can visit this weekend or upcoming week are Bir, Dharamsala, Palampur, Kasauli, Landour, Kanatal, Bundi, Orchha, Chanderi, Jaisalmer. Happy travelling!
