As per my knowledge Nashik is the nearest city. It's one of the hardest trek. It's comes under sahyadri mountain range

Harihar fort is located in Nashik a rectangular shape built by yadava dynasty. The trail starts from Kotamwadi village and moves towards Trimbak village. From here 45mts away is the plateau. From what I heard yes it is difficult trek but lot of guidance is offered. Best time to trek is before the rains or after the rains where u get a spectacular view. Due to moss formation and narrow traverse trek is difficult.
