My previous advice was based on assumption that you are based in North India. If you are in South start from Kerala (Munnar, Alleppey, Wayanad etc.), Kanyakumari, Goa, Gokarna, Spiti, Hampi, Madikeri, Puducherry, Madurai, Mysore, Western and Eastern ghats both have many places. India is so beautiful for a lifetime is not sufficient. Kindly do not leave your job rather try to make best use of your leaves. If you really want to take a break, save money enough for 1-2 years or find something to work remotely.
You can either start from North and make your way to South via East or Central or start from South to North. Totally upto you. Chalk out a plan, sort out your finances and set out on your heart's journey.
Hello Rohit, Here is a link that I think can help you: https://pin.it/3lyetm5mm6upe5 I must say, making such a decision is very difficult. Best wishes to you.
Great choice to travel solo around India. You can start with following treks in North India-

Kheerganga trek
Kedarkanta trek
Hampta pass trek
Valley of Flowers trek
Beas kund trek
Do share your experience on Tripoto!!
Rajasthan (Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udaipur and Jaisalmer), Uttarakhand (Haridwar, Rishikesh, Nainital, Mukhteshwar, Mussorie, Dehradun, Dhanaulti, Karnatal and Chamba etc), Himachal (Bir, Mcleodganj, Dharamshala, Kasol, Kalga, Pulga, Tosh, Manikaran, Manali, Rohtang Pass), Gujarat (Runn of Kutchh, Daman, Diu, Ahmedabad), Punjab (Amritsar, Jalandhar and Patiala), Madhya Pradesh (Bedaghat and Satpura). I think these places will take your 1-2 months and will not deplete your savings. All the best.
India is great option for you to start your travel experience. You can choose from these:
Kasol-kheerganga trek
Beas kund trek
Tosh-Malana
Auli-rishikesh
Pondicherry Hampi
Gokarna
It is this decision that counts. When you have decided that travelling is life.. then go for it.. everything else comes for you at the right time. In my opinion just do a circular trip all over India starting from Delhi or Agra.. travel Rajasthan Gujrat mumabi goa Karnataka and Kerala.. From there travel east cost till eastern parts to North East and the seven sisters.. after that do some serious treks at North and spend over a month exploring north.. You are gonna enjoy your life
Quitting job is not a great idea, until you work in a field that you have no interest.
If that is the case, then feel free to walk from your job. With your time frame of 2-3 months concentrate only on a specific region of the country. Choose a region that you have not much knowledge or where you feel the culture is different from your region. I would suggest you spend the entire 2 months patiently in seven sisters state of North East. explore a different India, meet new people from different walks of life, always be patient, don't be disappointed if you can't keep with your planned itinerary( for best don't plan any) let your journey suprise you, don't Google about the place you go instead speak with people there and learn about the place. Never loose hope and Confidence! Hope you will be born a new person at the end of the journey Happy Travelling!
Now would be a good time to start with South India and when the weather gets warmer travel to North India. By the way, Kudos. Great dream! Please share your experience at Tripoto
I did the same in the year 2009 by quiting my job and i planned my first solo europe trip to Denmark. But its totally upto you that which part of the world you want to explore and then you decide look out of your budget which is very important and then enjoy the life to the fullest....
First of all don't quite your job, first start travelling in your Nearby location, travelling as a hobby is different but as a profession it us not cup of tea
