In october you can visit several places in India. You can go to Kerala which i had visited in 2016 october. You can go to Arunachal pradesh, Sikkim, Northern part of West Bengal like Dooars, Darjeeling. You can also think for uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh.

I suggest these places because you can always visit hill stations at other times of the year... but for exploring south this is the best time
