Both are a great place to spend time but having a limited time, I would suggest, go for Majauli island. It is a great place and an island is something in its own.

You should definitely go for Majuli river island, Haflong is just a hill stationi in Assam, while Majuli is much more than just an island. The whole river island is so big that it has been declared as a district, you can witness rich flaura and fauna, go for boat rides or experience the diverse ecosystem. Majuli Island would give you a better perspective of the culture and traditions. Visiting Majuli also enable you to visit the historic city of Sibsagar for half day tour to see the architectural remains of the mighty Ahom Kingdom.

I would suggest Haflong because of its untouched beauty. But if you are not a mountain person, then definitely visit the scenic Majuli river island.
