Auro Beach - less frequented by tourists
Mangrove forest at Pichavaram - It's around 70 km from Pondicherry. You can take a boat ride through the forest for a surreal experience. If you want to enter the Matrimandir in Auroville (The golden globe, that is) , you need to make a reservation at least a week prior as very few people are allowed to enter and meditate and that too at a specific time.
