Hey folks. Can you suggest the mode of transport for Goa. Like from station to hotel, etc. Are Uber & Ola taxis available? Your help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Aniruddha, There is no Ola Uber facility in Goa but Taxis are available but I felt it bit costly. You can take self riding vehicles from anywhere in Goa on per day basis. inbox me if you need any reliable contact.

The cheapest option would be to rent a bike/car from Madgoan and drop it on the way back. Hiring a taxi from Madgaon to North Goa would cost you around Rs.1200 one way. NO, there is no taxi aggregator that is operational in Goa; all the taxi`s running are union based.

You can take local buses which operate from station to calangute etc. Taking cabs will be expensive for you if are a solo traveller. You can share cabs or ask someone to drop you.

You’d get local taxis from the station to the hotel or can also ask the hotel to arrange a transport but to travel inside Goa, you should hire a self driven car or a bike which is pretty convenient.

Old question (I'm fairly new to all this tripoto thing), but I will post answer anyway since it's a good community with some nice people who might come around looking for an answer. Uber, Ola, zoom car etc- NOT At all. None of them exist here due to taxi unions, they don't allow them here. I went crazy at some point in the past to get around this fact 😡😒 but that's how it is. Now your options are- 1. Taxi - Good for small rides, but somewhat expensive which can get very expensive in off-hours, midnight etc. If you are literally stuck with no other options then stick with taxi. 2. Rent a car from local providers- there are a few which I will list at the bottom of this option in case you/anyone want to try out. These are more like zoom car alternatives in Goa but not that well managed. CRAZY FACT - They require minimum 2 days booking, so if it's about just one time trip then it's a no go (again it sucks for one time short rental but might work better than all other options.) Bike rentals - This might sound like a nonsense option but it works well with a group of friends who don't have much luggage, just pick yours from Railway station, Airport etc. This doesn't work well for most people due to luggage carry issues. Hope this helps. P.S. - I have tried a few local self drive car rental providers in the past, I won't even tell the names because none of them were good at all. Just keep in mind that if you go with this option, first thing you should do is, pay a visit to fueling station, these guys don't have any fuel left in the car, that yellow fuel indication light in on all the times. 😒

Uber and Ola attempted to launch operations in Goa in 2014 but were quickly banned. Later attempts have similarly fallen short. Taxi unions' refusal to permit Uber to function was the primary factor in its prohibition. They didn't like the commission that these businesses charged for each ride.
