I suggest you carry Indonesian Rupaiah with you. It will be very convenient during transactions, as the local vendors and shopkeepers are sometimes unwilling to take USD. Also it will be hassle free to use the Rupaiah straightaway rather than taking the hassles of checking how much USD you should be paying after conversion of local currency. So getting your money exchanged into Indonesian Currency from any exchange outlets, shops is the most wise thing to do.
