Well I can help you to travel from Hosapete to Hampi. DO NOT take an auto. They take advantage of a confused tourist unfamiliar with the place, distance and time. Charged 300 INR
Take a bus from the stand. Will cost you about 14 INR only. There are few sunset points. Sunset from Hemakuta Hill

2. Monkey Temple
3. Sunset point(Hippie Island) All three are good for both sunrise and sunset experience as well. Happy vacay!

Hey Rosel, the best sunset point in Hampi is Mathunga hill ... thats the best and one more is to take a coracle ride on tungabhadra River ... An evening ride is much famous here ... Happy Travelling!!!

Ya as informed by others Matunga hills is a great place to witness sunset, also hemakuta hills is a nice place to spend the evening.
You can visit Daroji bear sanctuary in the outskirts of Hampi.
