You can start saving as low as 500 to 1000 per month and go on a trip you wish to.. Stay in hostels , dorms ..they are comparatively affordable and also gives a great experience to hear from other travellers and meet new people.

Try saving on accomodation by staying at Airbnb or staying with locals.. before visiting any place try to make friends there; some people do offer accommodation to travelers. save on traveling by making bookings in advance so that you can get train tickets. also on so e routes flights are very cheap if you book in advance. wherever possible use local transport and avoid booking cabs. also, try to get as much info from locals as possible about local traveling.
my experience says, if you plan your trip in advance you can save a great deal 👍.

TBH, it gets cheaper if you travel alone since you can ask for a lift many times, share a room with locals by providing a small service like teaching their kids. Also, hostels are very inexpensive and would help you meet new people and you'd gain new experiences.
