Travelling is best when safety and security is there. As you are new to this, I advise you to take baby steps. Visit places near your city with your friends. If you like it then only widen your horizons slowly and steadily. All the best.
As you are new to this i would suggest you to firstly explore the places in your range of present place and when you are comfortable then explore places outside of your comfort zone.
You can take help from the posts and travellers on this forum. Enjoy travelling!!!
Now since you are new to traveling start finding answers from within; like:
1. Will I prefer an adventure or would venture safely.
If you are an adventure junky you should make some impromptu plans to relatively safe places where even if you find yourself in a hassle you might get some help. Then with this first refreshing taste of independence plan your next.
If on the other hand you want to take things slow and safe start by exploring nearby areas in friendly groups or even if you plan solo then go for a detailed background check before taking your fresher's trip. From my personal experience, I would say take a giant leap of faith and plan a destination that you wouldn't usually dare(an Himalayan Trek, Northeast backpacking, a week in Rajasthan, etc) as your first journey!
After finishing such a daring experience you will be more open to travelling, it will immensely boost your confidence and inspire you to travel more! The most challenging step in travelling is to preparing your mind for the unexpected! Be always aware that many things/itinerary may not turnout as planned. So never be disappointed, and enjoy your journey!
Be ready for wonderful journey. pack your bags and leave home. First start with exploring places around you then go with regional and then international trip...
