Hi all!! Can anyone let me know which is the bus terminal in Chennai from where we can get buses to go to Pondicherry? Is CMBT permanently closed? Where should one head to for A.C. Volvo buses to go to Pondicherry.

Hi, Many busses start from Koyambedu. Check in Red bus's site

It's mostly Koyembedu, From where you can get buses to almost all places in South India and then there's Madhya Kailash for buses to Pondicherry.

You can easily get buses at Koyambedu bus stand to reach pondicherry. Many bus options are available to book at Redbus too.

Either try from red bus or you can catch state government run across Volvo bus from Koyembeddu. They run after every one hour

For buses to Pondicherry, Madhya Kailash has buses flying frequently. You will find buses from Koyambedu too. And no, cmbt isn't closed permanently. Infact, you will find trains to Pondicherry from Tambaram on a daily basis.
