Hey Zoya, Your friend is right. December is when snow starts to pour in. So, it may or may not be present during the time you plan to visit. It will be mostly dry in case snow is not present with brown colors around. Without snow you may not experience it in a way it should be. However, if the preference is not snow or anykind of comparison to others and you only want to do it for sake of solitude, travel and trekking experience then you will not be wrong. You can also read my detailed travel guide on it: https://devilonwheels.com/kedarkantha-trek-comprehensive-guide/

Kedarkantha is best done as a winter trek – from December to April. It is an out-and-out snow trek during these months. You'll see the first snows on the very first day of the trek, while trekking from Sankri to Juda Ka Talab. Moreover, Kedarkantha is one of the few treks accessible in winter.
