Hello greetings, best time to visit Shimla and Manali. but hotels will be bit expensive now since its peak time for tourists. well, if budget is not problem there are some hertigae villas and hotels built in British era, you can stay there. otherwise tons of options in hotels. if traveling from chandigrah I would suggest first go to Shimla by toy train from kalka station. in Shimla you have mall road, gaeity therate and jakhu temple and church at mall road. you can explore local market near mall road and sells good quality wooden articles at very reasonable prices.accprding to me two days are more than enough for shimla. then you can an head to Manali. snowfall will be better in manali. visit few near by temple s and got to Rohtang pass. explore mall road and local markets if you like on your return you can stay at kullu for one day. you can buy local wooden clothes shawls, cashmere, pashima etc. walnuts and wines are good quality and cheaper
