Since you won't be able to find snow in December (all thanks to global warming), you can travel to either North-East Indian destinations like Meghalaya and Sikkim. In North, you can visit peaceful yest romantic destinations like Auli, Manali (opt to stay at Simsa, Naggar road, Prini, Old Manali etc), Srinagar & Pahalgam.

Hill stations especially in Himachal Pradesh are comparatively cooler in December hence I will not recommend that. In India, Munnar(Kerala), Goa (If you are party animals) & Rajasthan (Udaipur,Jaisalmer) are some great options.
