Your welcome..Google if snowfall has occured in nainital or not..If yes,then it will be bautiful mainly the Tiffin top. Otherwise without snow nainital is not much a visit. You can go if you have extra days and money in hand.

Hey Shreyasi, Yesss, uttarakhand is safe ... But as always you should have all knowledge about the place you are planning to go to ... Dont just hop on any private transport or any public transport unless you feel safe ... Don't check into any hotel without cross checking and refering reviews ... Avoid traveling after 8 p.m.... Don't ask help from strangers and also pre plan your trip perfectly ... See that everything from hostel to flight tickets to currency on your phone is fixed ... With all of this just enjoy the destination as India is altogether a lovely country and Uttarakhand is a dev Bhoomi of our country ... Places to check out for in uttarakhand are :- Mussoorie Nainital :- The places you can visit in Nainital are as follows.... 1. Boating:- You can go on a boat ride in Gondola boat or pedal boat for 210 and 150 rupees per hour respectively. See that it close by 6pm. 2. Shopping:- If you are a shopaholic then you can roam around in mall road for hours shop after shop. 3. Raj Bhavan:- It's free and easy to hop around Governors house and enjoy the Gothic style of architecture which resembles Buckingham palace of England. 4. Naini Devi temple:- This is a well known Shakthi peeths of Hindu religion and is open for people till 10 pm. 5. Eco cave gardens:- These cave gardens close by 5.30 pm, so if you can make yourself free for half an hour more you can cover this place also. And December is one of the best time in the year to visit Nainital .. Hey yesss Dehradun to rishikesh is a 4 hour journey in a HRTC bus ... i myself have traveled ... u can take an early morning bus and that will help you to get back to rishikesh on the same day .. but i prefer you to stay a day in dehradun or Mussoorie as kempty falls in Mussoorie is a must visit and it would take time ...
Uttarakhand is one of safest city for solo travellers. Of course one has to be little attentive always. U can visit Dharamshala and Mcleodganj

Then I would recommend you to go on your own and if you have your own group then it's great. Kedarnath is one of the best options for like 10 days trek and also you don't need any guide as it is a simple trek and popular too so you will find groups there but if don't have too much time then Nag tibba is best, it's like 3-4 day trek. Suggesting to go Dehradun. Places like Robber's cave, mindrolling monastery and missourie has to be experienced. Also try seeing Rishikesh. you can do bungee jumping and rafting. Go to beatels caves.

Hey! It's absolutely safe. If your budget is less I will suggest you to travel I group it will reduce your staying charges. Also right know there is snowfall in Auli and chopta.
