Ellora if to be toured fully needs one full day and the same applies for Ajanta. If you are planning for Aurangabad then keep 2 days for Ajanta and Ellora but do keep 1 day for the Daulatabad fort which is mesmerizing.

Ajanta Caves are a three hour drive from Aurangabad. So a day for them and places in the city and another day for Ellora, Daulatabad fort, Lonar lake and the Shiva Temple.

Yes, it is possibe! Here is a suggested 3-day itinerary for Aurangabad that includes the main attractions in the area: Day 1: Visit the Ajanta Caves (approximately 100 km from Aurangabad) Explore the 30 Buddhist rock-cut caves, famous for their exquisite paintings and sculptures Return to Aurangabad by evening Day 2: Visit the Ellora Caves (approximately 30 km from Aurangabad) Explore the 34 rock-cut caves featuring Hindu, Buddhist, and Jain sculptures and temples Visit the nearby Grishneshwar Jyotirlinga Temple, one of the 12 Jyotirlingas in India Return to Aurangabad by evening Day 3: Visit Lonar Crater Lake (approximately 135 km from Aurangabad) Explore the unique saltwater lake formed by a meteor impact On the way back to Aurangabad, visit the Daulatabad Fort, an impressive 14th-century fortress with a fascinating history If time permits, visit the Bibi Ka Maqbara, a beautiful mausoleum built in memory of Aurangzeb's wife Return to Aurangabad by evening As for transportation, it is recommended to hire a private cab for convenience and comfort. While buses are available, they may not always be reliable or comfortable, especially for long distances. A private cab will give you the flexibility to explore the area at your own pace and comfort.
