You can book by IRCTC Railway application or by reaching Mettupalayam railway station early morning you can get the tickets ..Hope you enjoy the view from Ooty to Mettupalayam ..as the train starts by 3 in evening ..I booked return journey from Ooty to Mettupalayam the view was awesome .. January is the best time to chill in Ooty note - There are only limited seats for the train ..Book as soon as possible or try Tatkal reservation

U can book through IRCTC APP or IRCTC.CO.IN, a passenger Toy train is running daily which getting in this train a bit difficult. There is a special train running now from MTP to UAM which also takes more than 5 hours journey time which you can enjoy beautiful sceneries of Ooty but it is regular train. pls note - It is a special train & ticket fare on this train is higher.
