I have been to Spiti. Although, I was on a 2 wheeler, I know the terrain all too well. Is it dangerous? Absolutely. Is it going to make you s*** bricks at times? Absolutely. Is it doable? Absolutely! Should you take an attempt at Spiti, on a self driven car? Abso-friggin-lutely!! For crying out loud, it's the Spiti Valley!!! If you are an experienced driver, you can do it.Keep buffer days at hand, cause the monsoons, bring with them, terrible landslides. P.S. Do this trail if you are an experienced driver. An above average one. P.P.S. The drive will be scary. But , it will be worth it. Trust me on that. I did it in 2016. I just had a DSLR and a mobile.I never recorded much. But you can definitely look up on my Instagram. I do have a few videos there of 4 wheelers getting stuck. Also, you will get an idea of the terrain. I hope you do it. I would choose Spiti Valley over Ladakh ,anyday! Instagram: @therealsankalppanigrahi Edit: It takes 2 days to reach Spiti. You can stop at Chandrataal on the first night.

Yes. from manali it might take 14 hours to enter spiti and if you are choosing to ho by 4X4 then it's fine to take the route from manali easily as you encounter lot many water crossings in the midway.

The road condition is not good once you enter spiti region and good driving skills are required especially on monsoon. it approximately takes 4-5 hours to enter spiti including buffer time and rest the time taken to reach destination. for more travel updates and content follow my insta accounts @adventurist_ankur @traveltoexplore_diaries
