I went to hubli a year back that time I spent 500rs per room (normal) 1.5 km from railway station. The everything was neat and clean and service too was good enough also they recommended me places to eat near by and market areas. For a budget travel it's good option to stay for a day before trip to hampi, badami or any other connecting place.
