Answer:- Have seen people traveling Ladakh region with kids, my personal view is a big NO for infants or kids below 12 months. In this case you are asking about 1.5 year old baby. Well 12+ months babies usually respond to altitude and environment same as adults, babies above 3+months develops similar tolerance level like adults. So you can plan your travel but with utmost precaution as follows 1. CONSULT your pediatrician before making any decision 2. Keep food & liquid sufficiently and avoid outside food for baby 3. Once started increase number of stoppages 4. Altitude should be increased gradually for proper acclimatization 5. Remain adequately hydrated 6. Keep adequate winter clothes to protect the baby from cold 7. Due to clear sky, the sun rays are highly pinched, keep baby's soft skin protected from it 8. Avoid spending more time in high altitude area on way 9. Night stay at Pangong with baby a strict NO 10. Monitor weather forecasts and avoid getting sink in pahadi rain These above may help you in minimizing the risk factors, if at all you start your journey with kids, however a caution again YOU MUST Consult YOUR DOCTOR BEFORE TAKING ANY decision
