There are 2 ways to cross the river from Hampi. One is to take a 7-minute motorboat ride or a 15-minute coracle ride from Hampi mainland to the Hippie Island.
The other alternative is to travel by road via Hospet which is around 40 km. The nearest railway station to Hippie Island, Hampi is the Hospet junction, 13 km away from Hampi. You can take a KSRTC bus or an auto ride to Hampi bus stand from here, just 6 km away.
Good Luck!!
Happy Travelling!!
To go to hippie island only option is by boat. timing is 7.30am to 5.30am. Charges for one way is 50₹. After and before the timing there will be boat but they charge double or triple.
You need to reach boating point, next to virupaksha temple and take a boat to the other side. this is the shortest route. the other one is by road by driving 40km.
The most convenient way issue to reach there from Hampi via the coracle ride. Also if you lucky enough you might spot a crocodile basking nearby on the banks while crossing. However it might not be good option during the monsoons as water level rises.
