Depends on from where you are traveling you have to take bus/train or cab. To explore Hampi 2 days are enough and extra 1 day you can add if you wish to chill out. I traveled Hampi just 10 days back and I found 2 night stay 3 days are enough. Drop me msg on tripoto or send msg on @lazysince1995 (Instagram) I will send you initeray. also you can visit my Hampi blog. https://www.tripoto.com/trip/3-days-in-hampi-with-budget-of-rs2500-5c3f94bfca088
Hi Himanshu
You have trains and buses from Bangalore to Hospete. From Hospete you have to board another bus or take auto to reach Hampi.
You need at least 2 days to explore the Hampi and if u wanna visit Hippie island too then add another day.
You have buses from Bangalore to Hospete. From Hospete you have to board another bus or take auto to reach Hampi. And 3 days are quite sufficient to explore hampi
If you are travelling from Bangalore, it will take you 6-7 hrs via bus to reach Hospet. From hospet, you can reach Hampi via public transport or auto in less than 30 mins.
Bus, Flight and trains are available.
The nearest railway station is Hospet Junction (IR station code: HPT), 13km away.
Overnight trains run several times a week from Bangalore, Hyderabad and Goa. The trains are a much cheaper and more comfortable route than the tourist buses most people are led into. (2nd class air-con - bed with linen - costs ₹750 from Bangalore to Hampi). You can also catch an overnight train from Mysore to Hubli and from there to Hospet/Hampi. You can also get an overnight train, the Hampi Express, direct from Mysore to Hospet Junction. It departs Mysore at 18:15 and is scheduled to arrive at 07:45 the next morning.
From Hospet train station it is very easy to hop on a local bus which goes between the railway station and the main bus station and onward to Hampi (same bus). Rickshaw drivers in the area will overcharge for the minimal distance between the bus station and the rail station (even lying to say there is no bus! Don't listen!), and to Hampi it's a long, dusty ride in a rickshaw (₹170-200). The buses are very frequent. It's about a kilometre and a half walk from the train station to the bus station.
From the rail station to the bus station the bus is 6 rupees, from the Hospet bus station to Hampi it is 12 rupees.
Hospet is near station to hampi. plz check my trip. I have visited hampi in 5000rs. I can help you if u want to do it a budget trip and spend less den 5000
Direct buses are available from almost all cities. Nearest railway station is hospet(15kms) and nearest airport is hubbali(160kms). Auto and buses are available from hospet from morning to 8 in the evening and vice-versa. However, in order to cross river and reach hippie Island you need to reach before 5pm.
Best sunrise/sunset spots:
1. Matanga Hill
2. Monkey Temple
3. Sunset point(Hippie Island)
Moreover, all the spots are good for both sunrise and sunset as well.
Happy Vacay!
Hampi is better explored on foot if you can do it, never the less weather also plays an important role. There are several ways to reach Hampi like auto, car and bus.
Hospete is the next nearest town and do visit Hippie island.
