Sikkim can be reached in cab..nearest airport is bagdogra.you can check buses from bagdogra as well.rest stay in city so that you have connectivity to all places to visit and enjoy travelling in local transport

There are various to travel. Once you Reach Bagdogra, you either take public transport or Cabs to reach Gangtok in 4 to 5 hours.

Hi, in order to travel to Sikkim you have to reach Bagdogra or New jalpai guri. From there you can get cabs to Sikkim. Also if you want a hassle free travel, you can go for a package. Gangtok has an airport now.. or Siliguri/Bagdogra.. so take flight untill u are from West Bengal..by train its just a night's journey

Best Time to visit Sikkim is October to December and March to May. Below is the itinerary we followed when we visited Sikkim:
Day-1:Flight to Bagdogra and reached Siliguri
Day-2:Siliguri to Gangtok and applied for necessary permits.Sight-seeing in Gangtok.
Day-3:Gangtok to Lachen.
Day-4:Gurudongmar Lake and Kaala Patthar. Reached Lachung by evening.
Day-5:Yumthang Valley and Zero Point.Back to Gangtok.
Day-6:Nathula Pass and Tsomgo Lake.
Day-7:Char Dham in Namchi. Reached Ravangla and visited Buddha Park.
Day-8:Rabdenste Ruins and Khecheopalri Lake and back to Siliguri
