Hi. I think it is important to seek multiple opportunities to travel, even volunteering with an organisation abroad who can sponsor your travel, or working around your own budget. I would suggest to expand beyond just writing.

Get published in good magazines, take up jobs in different places, work while traveling, minimize expenses.
