Hi Tusita, Ladakh gets decent snowfall in October. The internal roads are still open since the Indian Army uses them. Sometimes in case of heavy snowfall, roads may remain closed for a couple of days until BRO clears them out. That is why it is better to travel with some buffer days to compensate for such events. If you are getting to Leh by road then come via Srinagar. Manali-Leh is mostly close in October. Some of the must visit places are Nubra Valley, Pangong Lake and Tso Moriri. You can also visit Marsimik La, Horla and Charchagan La if the roads are open. As for the accommodations, tents might not be available in the third week of October but guesthouses, homestays and hotels will be available. It is better to book your accommodation in advance.

Hi Yes in October and November the temperature drops drastically and it is too windy. Most of the camps get closed in October and only few hotels are working. So its better to plan your trip from in July or August. The few things you have to do in Ladakh are: Trekking Rafting visiting beautiful lakes Ancient Monasteries Riding or driving to highest motarable roads. Best photographic sceneries. https://www.funstay.in/ladakh-tour-packages Following link can provide you clear ideas as to what all places you can visit.

Hi Tusita, In my opinion, October is a bit too late for Ladakh. Aug - September is the ideal time.
